Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu – On July 5, 2025, Shri Jual Oram, Hon’ble Minister of Tribal Affairs, visited the revered Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, where he experienced a profound sense of peace and spiritual enrichment. The visit, marked by devotion and reflection, underscored Shri Oram’s deep connection to India’s spiritual heritage and his commitment to holistic well-being for all communities.
Expressing his heartfelt gratitude, Shri Oram shared, “Har Har Mahadev! Feeling truly blessed to visit the sacred Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore and receive the divine grace of Devadhidev Mahadev. An experience that fills the heart with peace and the soul with profound devotion.” His words reflect the transformative impact of the visit, which resonated deeply with his lifelong dedication to serving the people of India, particularly the tribal communities of Odisha.

During his visit to the Isha Yoga Centre, nestled at the foothills of the Velliangiri Mountains, Shri Oram explored key spiritual landmarks, including the iconic 112-foot Adiyogi statue, the sacred Dhyanalinga, Suryakund, and Linga Bhairavi Devi. These spaces, known for their serene ambiance and spiritual significance, offered the minister an opportunity to connect with the essence of yoga and meditation, aligning with the Isha Foundation’s mission to foster physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
Shri Oram also took a keen interest in the Isha Foundation’s rural outreach programs, particularly those focused on tribal welfare. He visited a nearby tribal village, where he interacted with local communities and lauded the Foundation’s transformative efforts. “I’m glad that tribal women are now paying income taxes and becoming lakhpatis thanks to the Isha Foundation,” he remarked, highlighting the success of tribal women from Thanikandi village who, with Isha’s guidance, have established thriving businesses and achieved financial independence. These initiatives, he noted, contribute significantly to the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India).
The minister’s visit also included a tour of Isha Home School and the Sadhguru Gurukulam Samskriti, a residential school that revives the ancient Indian gurukulam tradition. Shri Oram praised the Foundation’s holistic approach, stating, “Isha’s efforts in rural development, education, health, spirituality, and cultural preservation are commendable. The village I visited today has greatly benefited from Isha’s work, and the residents are visibly happy.”
Hosted by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, the visit was an occasion to celebrate shared values of empowerment and well-being. Sadhguru expressed his honor in hosting Shri Oram, noting, “His relentless commitment and efforts for over three decades to bring well-being to the people of Odisha, especially the tribal communities, have been truly commendable.”
